Children under 12 invited to craft birds at Festival
The Arts Council Oklahoma City invites children ages 12 and under to “put a bird on it” by creating their own 2D multimedia scissortail flycatcher at the Festival of the Arts’ Children's Art Field.
Inspired by the festival’s 2026 featured artist, Greg Erway, and his work “The Tender Season,” young artists will spend 10–15 minutes in the Children’s Art Field tent crafting colorful scissortail designs using a variety of materials.
Families are encouraged to join in the fun throughout the festival and share their creations on social media—take your bird along for a bite at Mustard’s, a stroll through Sculpture Park, and across the festival grounds.
Special thanks to St. Anthony SSM Health for their generous support of this children's activity area. @ssmhealthsaints @gregerwayart
