Apex Police end domestic incident after hours of standoff
Apex Police said officers responded earlier in the day to a domestic incident near Pearson Street and Hunter Street.
In a statement, the department said the individual barricaded himself in the basement and that officers worked for several hours before safely taking him into custody.
Police said the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the public. The department thanked the community for its patience and Wake County EMS for its assistance.
