Prescribed Burn Underway at Carlton Reserve
Conditions permitting, staff from the Sarasota County Fire Department and the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department Wildland Mitigation Group will conduct a prescribed burn today, June 5, 2026, on the Carlton Reserve, Sarasota County Emergency Services said.
The prescribed burn started after 10 a.m., and Sarasota County personnel received authorization from the state to perform it.
A valid state or county burn authorized by the Florida Forest Service is permitted when a burn ban is in effect.
